How members opt in

Greybear is a general-purpose operations harness for businesses and households, developed by Idealism & Co. LLC. Its household channel is a group text thread shared by the members of one household that has been set up in the application. There is no public sign-up, web form or keyword: each member is invited directly by the household's account holder and is added only after saying yes. This page documents that consent experience in full.

1. The in-person invitation

The household's account holder asks each member directly, using this script:

"Do you want to join our household's Greybear text thread? It's one group thread for the household. Greybear posts a daily list of household tasks and who they're assigned to, and answers task commands you text into the thread, like 'done dishes'. It's about 1–5 messages a day. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. The terms are at continuumodc.vercel.app/household/terms.html. Do you want to join?"

2. The confirmation text

When a member is added, the first message they receive is this confirmation:

Greybear: you've opted in to household task messages from Idealism & Co. LLC - a daily digest and replies to task commands, about 1-5 msgs/day. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.
